This book is a little intimidating to get started with but if you take a disciplined approach and take it bit by bit it works well I m an experienced language learner and the structure of this book makes sense if you stick with it a few weeks 4 stars because it came without an audio disc it mentions luckily swahili is phonetic and i have YouTube.

We are involved with African refugees and have started learning KiSwahili as a way to reach out to them and make them feel welcome here in the U.S We have a couple different courses, but my wife likes this one the best because it s conversational I haven t had time to look into this one myself, but am recommending it based upon her review of it You can t go wrong for the price and if you re serious about learning the language this probably won t be your only purchase, so I would say definitely get it as part of your overall library of KiSwahili instruction.

Very easy to understand, step by step I have some friends from Kenya at the university, so as long as I learn new words and a new chapter, I go and talk to them by using all my new vocabulary so that I won t forget them in the future, it helps a lot Sifahamu Kiswahili wizuri sana, la kini nafahamu Kingereza wizuri sana Kwaheri
